Marvyne Jenoff is a visual artist and writer.
Born in Winnipeg, she has lived in the Toronto area for most of her
adult life. Her art has appeared in several group and solo shows, and
is held in many private collections. She is a member of the Society of
Canadian Artists, the Colour and Form Society, and The Arts & Letters
Club of Toronto.
Marvyne has always needed to make things. She is drawn to softness,
irony, subtlety, beauty and imagination; her art expresses these
qualities. Her most recent work, collages on paper backing, are
created from pieces cut or torn from her own work: abandoned
watermedia paintings, printed photographs too good to waste, bits of
music she wrote in her youth. These pieces are abstract or
semi-abstract, suggesting rather than depicting the real world.
