The exhibition

Sponsored by the City of Toronto, The Rotunda  Hall is situated in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment district where 20,000 people per week walk through on their way to work, the Roy Thompson Hall, the Toronto International Film Festival Bell light box and surrounded by world-class hotels, e.g. the RITZ, restaurants,  the famous Princess of Wales theatres, and clubs.

COMMFFEST INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBIT  will receive ample media exposure e.g. TV and press coverage, printed program catalogues, website and social media presence. The exciting opening night will be held at the Rotunda with special guests and dignitaries present.

In juxtaposition with COMMFFEST Global Community Film Festival the art exhibition is intended to inspire and provoke dialogue between artist and audiences alike. The theme of the exhibition will be around social and cultural issues addressing Global Communities.

One Artist will receive the MADA (Make a Difference Award) Award for the art that has made a difference on the impact concerning a relevant Social or Cultural issue addressing Global Communities.

SUBMISSIONS

• Late registration deadline August 31st 2016, 

• All submissions based on approval will be notified at the latest by Sept10, 2016

 The catalogue will require artist to submit the following: final biography (max. 160 words) in English, upload one high resolution image of the artwork to be printed (TIFF 300DPI size (TIFF 300DPI size (artwork 127mm x 114mm H) with the details of the main artwork (title, artwork size, technique/medium, and representing Country), an Artist portrait (TIFF 300DPI size (36.65mmx30.2mm H ) Please note that the artwork included in the catalogue will be required to be exhibited. If you are exhibiting 2 or 3 artworks, curators will require lower resolution images (jpg) to be uploaded and the details of each artwork (title, artwork size, technique/medium) for the purpose of the labels and setup.

During the event, your artwork will be exhibited on

2 panels of 91 cm H x  1.20-m L/ ea. Total Size (1.82 m H x 2.40 m L)

for either 1 large, or 2 medium, or 3 small artworks.  Please include some space in between each artwork within your panel’s allocation.
