Linda Abrahams

Former director of Women’s Art Resource Centre and editor of Matriart Visual Arts
Journal, Abrahams has been at the forefront of contemporary arts in Canada and
internationally for over twenty years. She was portfolio administrator for renowned
Canadian artist, Joyce Wieland. Wieland was the first living Canadian woman artist to be
honoured with a solo exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada, (True Patriot Love,
1971) and the first living Canadian artist to be honoured with a retrospective exhibition at
the Art Gallery of Ontario (Joyce Wieland Retrospective, 1987).
She currently is an independent writer/curator residing in Toronto.
